On December 10th, 2005 an international symposium on Natsume Soseki's I am a Cat was held in the Lubranski Hall of the Collegium Minus at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the novel's first publication. The panellists were, in order of appearance:

 

Dr. Maciej Kanert, Adam Mickiewicz University,

Prof. Yoko Matsuoka-McClain, University of Oregon,

Prof. Mikolaj Melanowicz, Warsaw University, Jagiellonian University,

Dr. Monika Szychulska, Adam Mickiewicz University.
